Headlining are the The Tsunami Brothers - a four-piece surf band that play only instrumental surf music from the 1960s. The Shadows, Dick Dale, The Astronauts, The Safaris and of course The Ventures are just some of the artists The Tsunami Brothers like to play.

The Tsunami Brothers (all veterans of the Edmonton music scene) formed in 2011 because each member had a love of and an admiration for authentic surf music. They now have an active repertoire of 50 classic tunes from the great age of surf music. All are performed as they were recorded, in other words, The Tsunami Brothers do not “jam out” any tune. The Tsunami Brothers wear black suits, white shirts and black ties every performance and of course do the 60s surf band ³steps² as they play.

The Tsunami Brothers have played for these Edmonton events:

The City Of Edmonton Swimming Pool Summer Openings, The Taste Of Edmonton Festival in Sir Winston Churchill Square, The Deep Freeze Festival 2012 and The Kaleido Festival 2012. Each performance was an outstanding success!

Here are some audience comments from the Edmonton Deep Freeze Festival (as written by audience members) "Fantastic show!"....."Fantastic sound!"....."Come back to Alberta Ave. We love you!"....."Great grooving"....."Blood, Fire, Surf!.....

The opening band is Edmonton's own all-star band The Fortrelles; soul stirring soul revival! Fresh treatments of 1960's girl group classics that you know and love. Think The Sonics meet The Supremes, with a little spit and polish (and hairspray), you get these shimmy shakin' sirens of garage, rock and soul.First formed in 2009, Andrea Rankin, Cayley Thomas and Emily Rault had a hankerin' for a sound that they weren't hearing around town. Forming together in Cayley's basement, they started to choreograph their hip shaking, side stepping dance moves. Influenced by bands like The Supremes, Martha and The Vandellas, The Ronettes, The Shirelles, The Crystals and The Shangri-las, These ladies wanted to wow a crowd with a band fronted by 3 beautiful girls. Bringing in the garage, soul, punk and R&B background Emily grew up with, and the technical musical theater side of Cayley and Andrea, the Fortrelles were born.

The bands sound finally came together in 2012 when they were joined by Curtis Ross, Patrick Michalak, Peter Hendrickson and lastly Patrick Hughes in 2013. This lineup now features members from hit bands all around Edmonton and across Canada. With choreographed dances, the ladies in classic  outfits, and the men in dapper suits of the same ilk, this band always brings the crowd to their feet

Saturday August 9th, 10AM-3PM: In the setting of the Sturgeon river valley, the Show and Shine has become one of the major events of Western Canada. This event had been sponsored by our friends at Napa Auto Parts. Without the full cooperation of the city of St. Albert and its staff this event would not happen. Over the last number of years Rock'n August has partnered with many service groups and sponsors to make our event a successful car show and a major fundraiser for the Alberta Diabetes Foundation. Classic 50 & 60 music will be Rock N through out the day to set the atmosphere.

The name pretty much says it all.  Hits from the K-Tel era,  You bought all your favorite tunes  on different albums back in the day. The K-Tels  Combine great music with some fun music trivia.
