All events were very well attended and extremely well received by Sponsors, Participants, Entertainers, Volunteers, and local authorities including Police and By-Law officials. Without the cooperation of all the above people and many more this event could not happen. Our city is known for its talented volunteers and how they work with the city officials to consistently raise funds for all kinds of charities and needed causes.
Our financial results are no less gratifying. In total the direct result of Rock‘n August 2009 for Diabetes Research and Education far exceeded our goal of $50,000.00 with great weather and increasing participation all around, the Rock’n August committee will make a donation to ADF this year for a total of $77,000.00. Additionally, several St. Albert based community and service organizations participated in various ways to generate funds for other community projects and causes.
It is truly a community event when many come together as one to succeed. As we look forward to Rock'n August in 2010 (mark your calendars now for August 3-7-2010), we face new challenges of accommodating everyone who wishes to participate in this growing event. Planning has already started and we will make Rock’n August 2010 the best ever.
