ANNOUNCEMENTS – 07.10.2026

Get the official word, right here from the Rock’n August Board.  We have seen a number of posts addressing topics affecting Rock’n August Week.

Here is the official word:‍

(1)     Mayhem in Morinville Update:  Unfortunately, the City of Morinville has opted to rescind the offer to host a Burn Out Pit at the Leisure Centre.  In light of that, we have made a change to the evening.  We have often been asked about hosting a SWAP Meet at the Saturday Show’n Shine.  We just can’t manage that on a day that can see up to 1,000 cars.  In light of the changes to the Mayhem in Morinville event, we have chosen to introduce the SWAP MEET to the Thursday Night Show.

All registered RNA cars are invited to pre-register for a 10x10 space at no cost.  If you do not have a registered car but would like to set up a table of car-related items for the SWAP MEET, you can pre-register for a cost of $25.00.  We will set that ticket up on 30RNA.Eventbrite.ca  Please note, there is a limit to space so we will accept the first 30 Swap Meet registrations.

‍(2)     Nostalgia Night makes a shift!  We are excited to offer a curated selection of Rock’n August collectibles many on loan from Musee St Albert.  This event was originally scheduled to happen on Monday Night, but we decided with the number of participants attending our kickoff, it would be better served to set up the Century Casino St Albert Banquet Room for viewing on Tuesday Night!

‍Make sure you take the time to browse the Collection and enjoy the trip down the Rock’n August Memory Lane.

‍(3)     The Mighty Sturgeon River is leaving its mark.  You may have heard already but one of the challenges of a car show on the shores of a river is that we are subject to Mother Nature and all that she brings.  This year, we are in a bit of a wait and see pattern.  The status of the shores of the Sturgeon and the impact it has on where we can park cars is yet to be determined.  We are working closely with the City and the Parks Department to ensure the right decisions are made for Show Participants and the Park.

Right now, we can’t confirm the number of cars that we will be able to park.  We do feel confident that we can accommodate at least 600 cars.  As we get closer to the event, we will be able to modify that number as the ground conditions allow.

With that in mind, we encourage participants to pre-register.  Pre-registration has its benefits.  Once you are registered, you are guaranteed a spot at the Saturday Show’n Shine in the Downtown Park areas. You also will not have to stop and register on the morning of, we can’t guarantee there will be spots available on the day of the event.

Raised more than $1.9M to date in support of Diabetes Research.

Rock’n August is a summer-time tradition in St. Albert, AB and is supported by partnerships of both the St Albert & Edmonton Cosmopolitan Clubs, the St. Albert Cruisers, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2102 (St Albert) and the St. Albert Chamber of Commerce.

Additionally, we could not bring Rock’n August to life without the generous support of the local businesses in Edmonton and St Albert through sponsorships and hosted events during the week.

Thanks to you, our spectators, our classic car owners, the volunteers and the local business community, Rock’n August has raised more than $1.9M to date in support of Diabetes Research. All funds raised have stayed right here in Edmonton to support our local, world renowned researchers.
